Born in 1922, he developed a passion for painting from childhood, and held his first solo exhibition in 1956, continuing to exhibit in various Italian cities such as Rome, Bologna, and Pavia. He specialized in various subjects, including still lifes, landscapes, historical paintings, and even nudes; several of his works featured the sea as a central theme.

Following in the footsteps of the great Impressionists, he captures moments of everyday life, shown with great introspection, as in the work in question, in which four men admire the rough sea, which gives rise to who knows what dialogues or thoughts.
