Casali Ricchi was born in post-war Rome, and became a well-known and appreciated figure in the Roman art scene for hes still lifes and her strong chromatic experiments.

She participated in the VII and VIII Rome Quadrennial, and is mentioned in the archives of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.

The painting, following her Still Life dated 1951, depicts a still life of jugs, amphorae and masks, exploring various shades of red.

The work was exhibited at the Sulmona Arts Award.
